Broadband coverage in Cornwall

Broadband coverage in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is now 99% and actnow are working to address coverage in the very few remaining areas.

Broadband speeds boosted across Cornwall

Broadband just keeps getting faster and faster.  All Cornish exchanges have now been upgraded to provide the latest state-of-the-art broadband service known as 'maxDSL'. The new service offers download connection speeds of up to 8Mbps, and will adapt your connection speed to provide the maximum you line can sustain.

Your actual speed will depend on the length and quality of your line, but typically you will be able to enjoy speeds of around 4Mbps if you are within several km of your local exchange, and a super fast 8Mbps if you are very close. Upload speeds are also improved - up to 800kbps, providing a real benefit for customers needing to send large files or run secure virtual private networks (VPNs) over the internet.

The new 'maxDSL' service is generally available for little or no extra charge - contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for details.

Still can't get broadband?

actnow has launched 'the Big Hunt' for the remaining businesses and self employed people who still cannot get broadband. If you are a business experiencing any problems getting a broadband connection, it is important that you log your details with actnow.
