Azhora

Business Networking Management & Consultancy

Simon Ashmore runs Azhora Limited, a business specialising in providing independent advice and management for business networks, particularly online.  One of his priorities when he set up the company was to ensure that he could do business anywhere.

“Remote and flexible working is a very important part of my style of work, I use a wireless broadband connection at the office, at home and on the move.  The growing number of cheap wireless broadband hotspots are a great benefit to me. I use them to send emails, update website content, access surveys and generally run my business online.”

Last year Simon and a colleague decided to trial a number of hotspots in Cornwall  - an experiment that culminated in a virtual lunch using broadband wireless hotspots at different ends of the county to hold a video conference.

“It was a really useful trial and gave me a good insight into the benefits of working on the move.  Now when arranging meetings with my clients I will look for places that have a hotspot.  In St Ives the Blue bar offers free broadband internet access which is great.  It allows me to meet with the clients in a relaxed, professional setting, with good coffee, and demonstrate ideas and processes online at the same time”.
