Mount Prospect Hotel
Stephen and Yvonne Hill run an award winning hotel, Mount Prospect, in Penzance. They were the first actnow customer to have ADSL broadband installed when BT upgraded the Penzance exchange in April 2002.
Stephen considers that
"Nowadays it’s imperative that hotels have access to global communications - with broadband we are able to upload information to our website more quickly, check out industry websites in a fraction of the time and have email on all day, whilst being able to fax out on the same line. It’s vital that we respond to all emails quickly especially when there may be a delay because of different time zones - access all day long without additional internet call costs is very cost effective."
Yvonne knows that "much of our marketing activity now takes place online, including real time online reservations. We are able to update our hotel directory listings and availability in no time at all, and also concentrate on delivering effective email campaigns as more of our customers contact us via the internet. Broadband enables us to use the internet for Industry suppliers and rapid communication with most of our business partners. Our restaurant, The Bay, also has a website so customers can view the restaurant itself and menu online before making a booking online. I don’t know a single colleague or business who would dream of returning to dial up!”
