Nomads Clothing, based in Launceston, designs ethnic and casual wear for women. The designs are manufactured in India, imported to the UK and sold to independent retailers throughout this country and parts of Europe.
Duncan Harvey, Joint Managing Director, is delighted by the time savings broadband has brought the business.
“Broadband is so much faster. It is saving us significant amounts of time which means we can get on with actually running the business. It is especially useful to us as we need to use a lot of photography for catalogues and so on. Now we can share files and download photographs directly to graphic designers in London. We don’t have to use discs for photography anymore.”
Duncan also find broadband useful for research.
“We use the Internet to research the latest trends in fashion design. It is an invaluable tool for us making the process much quicker and simpler.”
One of the benefits of broadband that has really pleased Duncan is the cost savings:
“I have a business associate in Holland and we always have several long phone calls a month. Now we are able to carry out these discussions using Skype which saves up to £20 a month in phone calls. Because the broadband connection is on all the time, we also make more use of email, for instance emailing our manufacturers in India when in the past we would have used the fax or telephone. This has to saved us a lot of time and money. Broadband is continuing helping us make a fantastic improvement to the way we run our business.”
