British Surf Association

The Newquay-based British Surfing Association was formed in 1966. Signing up to broadband, was part of the organisation’s drive to provide an ever improving service to its rapidly expanding membership. It delivers a wide range of services from overseeing surf schools and coaching accreditation to organising surfing events.

The association’s website also includes the latest surfing news.

Karen Walton, National Director of the Association, said: “Interest in surfing is absolutely booming at present. We now have about 8,000 members from all over the UK – about three times the membership level of two years ago.

“The association really values the speed of broadband. It is just so rapid. The time saved really matters when you have an organisation as busy as ours. We can send and receive pictures tremendously quickly and surf the net for all the latest surfing news. We receive hundreds of emails every day, primarily from surfers and the press from all over the world.”
