Dolbeare Holiday and Touring Park

Mark Woodson and John Taylor took over Dolbeare Holiday Park in 2002 and, in their own words, they "have moved it up to the next generation."

Dolbeare is open all year and is used by holiday visitors and also year round customers. With a catchment area that includes Plymouth and Brittany Ferries, as well as South East Cornwall,  Dolbeare caters for a wide range of different kinds of customer.

Mark says "We put up a wireless mast and installed wireless broadband last summer as well as creating an internet station with a PC in the laundry room. At the time, it was clear to me that not many places in the area offered wi-fi and I wanted to move the touring park forward."

Mark continues "We have been really pleased with wireless broadband. You can now access broadband right across the park. For some of our  long stay customers,  broadband is their only access to the world and so they have really embraced it. Many have bought laptops and it is making a huge difference to them.

"For holiday visitors it has also been a real boon.  For example, one family came down to stay and the husband, who runs his own business in Weston super Mare, went straight home again to pick up his laptop as soon as he discovered we offered wireless broadband.

"Another family that visit regularly have also seen their holidays revolutionised!

"The husband used to leave his wife and children here, then return home to work in the IT industry, coming back to join his family each weekend. Now that he can work from his laptop at Dolbeare, he stays here for the whole of their three week holiday period. They are delighted!

"The wireless broadband facility is in use constantly. In fact, even as I speak, someone is using it to check out local car rental companies.

"Offering wireless broadband has been a great move for us – we can now offer a better experience to our customers."
